Mário Barros was born in Angola 28 July 1964. In 1965 he moved to Cascais, a small Portuguese village located near Lisbon, on the shores of the Atlantic Ocean. Since very young he felt a great passion for the ocean and for fishing. At the age of 15 Mário began his participation in fishing competition. His first participation in National Surf Casting Team was at the age of 19.

In 1984 began fishing competition in freshwater and was member of National team for more than 20 times. Now is totally dedicated to his great passion, the saltwater fishing and he is specialized in Spinning and Vertical Jigging. Together with Mário Baptista, other great champion, Mário Barros is the distributor in Portugal.
